The Rock in Japan Festival is an annual rock festival held during early August at the Hitachi Seaside Park, in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki, Japan, organized by Rockin'on magazine. This year marks the festival's 20th edition and will be held over two successive weekends.
Depending on nationality, the purpose of visit and the length of intended stay, a foreigner may or may not require a visa to enter Japan.
Nationals of countries and regions within the visa waiver program holding valid passports can apply for landing permission for short-term stays for such purposes as sightseeing and business trips without obtaining a visa. However, this arrangement neither permits the engagement in paid activities nor staying beyond the period allowed in each arrangement. In such cases, it is necessary for these foreigners to obtain a visa.
